Celebration for the Critters '05

Sat. 9/24 Zoological Society of San Diego. Celebration for the Critters promises a great evening of food, wine, and music, all to support CRES, the Society’s Conservation and Research for Endangered Species organization. Held at the San Diego Zoo, the main event will run from 7:30 p.m. to midnight, and will also feature live entertainment on two stages, dancing, strolling mariachis, a silent auction, and opportunity drawings. From 7:30 to 9:30, fine local restaurants will serve delicious dishes, and numerous purveyors will hold a tasting of wines, beers, and spirits. General Admission tickets: $80 ($90 after September 9).









Alternatively, buy a VIP ticket for $150, which entitles you to start at 6:30 and includes a Pieper-Sonoma sparkling wine toast, incredible edibles, and other libations, special VIP favor, and aerial tram ride. Or pay $275 to start at 5:30 and also enjoy an exclusive tasting of premium wines from Ferrari-Carano, sensational hors d’oeuvres provided by Azul of La Jolla, and special entertainment and visits from animal friends. The top VIP package, at $1,000, includes all the above plus a special Behind the Scenes Koala Encounter on September 10 (must reserve by September 1). Dress for the event is “cocktail casual”, and guests must be 21 or older to attend. Zoo membership is not required. Infants, strollers, and children are not permitted. Parking is free.
